About the C20 Install & Repair Machine Visa
The C20 is one of the most used single entry visas in Indonesia. It sits behind a lot of the country’s manufacturing and industrial activity. When a business imports machinery, the overseas supplier usually has to send a technician to install, commission or repair it. The C20 is the route that lets that technician do the work legally, without being treated as a local hire.
It is a single entry visit visa. The initial stay is up to 60 days, and it can be extended twice, for a total of up to 180 days if the job runs long. The technician stays tied to the overseas supplier rather than joining the local payroll. An Indonesian sponsor, usually the buyer or project partner, files the application.
One thing to get right: the visa only covers work directly linked to the imported machine. If the assignment widens into broader operational duties or a local salary, immigration may expect a work permit instead, so the scope has to be framed correctly from the start. We check that before anyone travels.
