About the bridging visa
Immigration processing does not always line up neatly with an expiry date. When you are switching status, for example from a visit visa to a KITAS, or waiting on a renewal, a bridging permit covers the in between period so you do not fall into overstay.
It is a short term fix, not a long term plan. We use it to protect your status while the main application is finalised, then move you onto the proper permit as soon as it is issued.
