Indonesia grants tourist visas on Arrival to several countries and free visa to most of the countries offering reciprocity. 

Country with free visa entry

The list of countries below do not need a visa to enter Indonesia. They can arrive with their passport and scan the passport at the autogate and enter the country. The foreign nationals of those countries can stay in Indonesia for 30 days. In the event they plan to stay longer they need to apply for a visa on arrival or another type of visa.

Country with Visa on Arrival – B1

The actual list of countries authorized to apply for a Visa on Arrival for Bali includes 97 countries. The foreign national can apply for a tourist visa in advance or purchase a visa on arrival at the airport. The visa is valid for a period of 30 days and can be extendable for another period of 30 days.

 

It is important to notice that after the total period of 60 days, the tourist needs to leave the country and apply again for a new visa.

 

This Visa is suitable for people planning to stay less than 30 days. This visa is not suitable for people looking to stay for a period over 60 days.

 

Single entry Tourist Visa – C1

This visa is perfect for holidays and tourism. The C1 visa is a tourist visa valid for 60 days. Foreigners need to apply before visiting Indonesia. Once the visa is issued the tourist has 90 days to come to Indonesia to use the visa. The visa can be extended 2 times for 60 days and allow the foreigner to stay in Indonesia for a total of 180 days.

 

The visa can be converted into a stay permit (KITAS) if the tourist decides to live in Indonesia.

 

Important: 

  • The tourist must go out after the 2 extensions and need to apply for another visa
  • This visa a single entry visa, so if the foreigner leave the country, the visa is not valid anymore

  • A recent colour photograph.
  • A personal bank statement showing a minimum equivalent amount of USD $2000. The statement must cover the last 3 months and include your name, the date, and the account balance.
  • A birth certificate for a child under 18 years old.

Single entry Business Visa – C2

The C2 visa is a Business visa valid for 60 days. Foreigners need to apply before visiting Indonesia. Once the visa is issued the tourist has 90 days to come to Indonesia to use the visa. The visa can be extended 2 times for 60 days and allow the foreigner to stay in Indonesia for a total of 180 days.

 

Important: 

  • The foreigner must go out after the 2 extensions and need to apply for another visa
  • This visa a single entry visa, so if the foreigner leave the country, the visa is not valid anymore

Multiple entry Tourist Visa – D1

The tourist visa for Indonesia is ideal for extended holidays and people coming often to Bali and Indonesia. It grants an initial 60-day stay and can be extended twice for an additional 60 days each time, allowing for a total stay of up to 180 days per visit. After this 180 day period, you are required to exit the country, though you can re-enter using the same visa.

 

There is 3 type of D1 visa:

  • 1 year
  • 2 years
  • 5 years

  • The tourist must go out after the 2 extensions and can reenter the country with the same visa
  • This visa can be converted into a KITAS
  • This visa is not allowing working activities or business activities in Indonesia even as a digital nomad.

This visa, like the D1 Multiple Entry Tourist visa, permits the holder to engage in unpaid business activities in Indonesia. It allows for an initial stay of 60 days for business, which can be extended twice for 60 days each, resulting in a maximum total stay of 180 days per visit. Upon reaching this 180-day limit, the visa holder must leave the country, but re-entry is permitted using the same visa.
