Indonesia grants tourist visas on Arrival to several countries and free visas to most countries that offer reciprocity. 

A country with free visa entry

The list of countries below does not require a visa to enter Indonesia. They can arrive with their passport, scan the passport at the autogate, and enter the country. Foreign nationals from those countries can stay in Indonesia for 30 days. If they plan to stay longer, they need to apply for a visa on arrival or another type of visa.

Country with Visa on Arrival – B1

The actual list of countries authorized to apply for a Visa on Arrival for Bali includes 97 countries. The foreign national can apply for a tourist visa in advance or purchase a visa on arrival at the airport. The visa is valid for 30 days and can be extended for another 30 days.

It is important to note that after the total period of 60 days, the tourist must leave the country and apply for a new visa.

This Visa is suitable for people planning to stay less than 30 days. This visa is not suitable for people looking to stay for more than 60 days.

Single-entry Tourist Visa – C1

This visa is perfect for holidays and tourism. The C1 visa is a tourist visa valid for 60 days. Foreigners need to apply before visiting Indonesia. Once the visa is issued, the tourist has 90 days to enter Indonesia to use it. The visa can be extended 2 times for 60 days and allows the foreigner to stay in Indonesia for a total of 180 days.

The visa can be converted into a stay permit (KITAS) if the tourist decides to live in Indonesia.

Important: 

  • The tourist must go out after the 2 extensions and needs to apply for another visa
  • This visa is a single-entry visa, so if the foreigner leaves the country, the visa is no longer valid

Single-entry Business Visa – C2

The C2 visa is a Business visa valid for 60 days. Foreigners need to apply before visiting Indonesia. Once the visa is issued, the tourist has 90 days to enter Indonesia to use it. The visa can be extended 2 times for 60 days and allows the foreigner to stay in Indonesia for a total of 180 days.

Important: 

  • The foreigner must go out after the 2 extensions and needs to apply for another visa
  • This visa is a single-entry visa, so if the foreigner leaves the country, the visa is not valid anymore

The tourist visa for Indonesia is ideal for extended holidays and for frequent visitors to Bali and Indonesia. It grants an initial 60-day stay and can be extended twice for an additional 60 days each time, allowing for a total stay of up to 180 days per visit. After this 180-day period, you are required to exit the country, though you can re-enter using the same visa.

There are 3 types of D1 visa:

  • 1 year
  • 2 years
  • 5 years

  • This visa can be converted into a KITAS

Upon reaching this 180-day limit, the visa holder must leave the country, but re-entry is permitted using the same visa.

There are 3 types of D2 visa:
