A working KITAS is a stay permit granted to foreigners having obtained a working permit (IMTA) to work for an Indonesian company in Indonesia.
With the working KITAS - E23
you can
Work legally in Indonesia after obtaining a work contract with an Indonesian company.
Conduct legal work in the area specified in the work permit and related to the position.
Like any local person, you can get benefits from residency and have some rights, such as buying a property or a vehicle under your name, opening a bank account, or subscribing to insurance.

Requirements to get a working KITAS
From the company
- Photo of the applicant
- CV
- Passport copy of the applicant with a validity of 6 month
- Bachelor degree
- Reference letter showing 5 years of work experience
- Bank statement showing 2000 USD or equivalent
- Address in Indonesia
Process and timeline of obtaining a Working KITAS
After receiving all the documents required, the application process takes 2 weeks to 2 months, depending on your chosen process. Once the visa is issued, the applicant has 90 days to enter the country and activate their working KITAS.
Other things to know about The Working KITAS

- Applicants with a working KITAS have to declare their income tax every year between January and April following the fiscal year.
- Foreigners have to get their SKTT after obtaining their KITAS. It is mandatory to be able to renew your KITAS.
