KITAS extension in Bali

KITAS holders need to start their application renewal online  The resident needs to provide a certain number of documents depending on the type of KITAS and show the applicant fulfil the requirements.

General requirements:

  • Passport validity with 6-month validity
  • Photo
  • Address in Indonesia
  • SKTT
  • Sponsor Documents
  • KTP of the sponsor

Specific requirements

  • Proof of investment for an Investor KITAS
  • BPJS contribution for a worker with a working KITAS
  • NPWP and annual income tax contribution

NEW KITAS and KITAS cancellation

For a Bali visa extension, KITAS holders must cancel their KITAS if they plan to leave or change sponsors. This process, called EPO (Exit Permit Only), requires applying at least 7 days before the KITAS expires. After cancellation, the foreigner has 7 days to leave the country and can then apply for a new KITAS. If the KITAS expires while the foreigner is outside Indonesia, they must apply for an ERP (Exit Re-Entry Permit) before getting a new KITAS.

It is important here to understand the difference between a new KITAS application and a renewal  The renewal application applies when the applicant does not change its sponsor and continues with the same type of KITAS and sponsor  A new KITAS applies when the type of KITAS and/ or sponsor changes.

Visa Run with Bali

Despite the different discussion, ILA does not recommend proceeding with the different visa runs between Singapore and Bali  Both immigration understand the visa run system and may judge your journey suspicious  Immigration officer has the full right to refuse your entry to the country without any explanation.
