The multiple-entry visa grants the foreigner a temporary stay permit in Indonesia for 1 year. The stay permit is called KITAS (ITAS). This digital nomad visa Indonesia allows professionals to legally reside in Bali while working remotely for international clients, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a tropical work-life balance.
Advantages of the Remote worker KITAS (E33G)
The remote worker KITAS grants the foreigner some benefits. It allows you to stay in Indonesia for more than 180 days and be considered as a temporary resident in Indonesia. With the visa you are able to go back and forth during one year without having to apply for a new visa.
The KITAS also brings some administrative advantages, such as opening a bank account in Indonesia. With this stay permit the foreigner can also get a driving licence and you are able to purchase a motorbike or a car.

Tax Residency in Indonesia for Remoter Worker
Indonesia is not a tax haven but offers certain advantages. Some digital nomads, remote workers, or business owners consider moving their tax residency to Bali for its balance between taxation and lifestyle. For holders of a Remote Worker KITAS, it is feasible to establish residency in Indonesia under the digital nomad visa Indonesia framework.
For this purpose, you need to apply for a tax card (NPWP) once you get your KITAS. You will need to declare your income. You must complete the personal tax declaration between January and March, following the fiscal year (January to December). For instance if you get your KITAS in 2025, you will need to declare your tax in 2026. Indonesia is taxing worldwide income; however, in practice, there is some tax treaty not to double tax some income, making the income non-taxable due to the lower tax in Indonesia.
